1. Wander the Charming Old Town

  • COWS Ice Cream  – Home to some of the creamiest, most delicious ice cream in Canada!
  • Maple Leaf Fudge  – Watch them make fresh fudge and sample some Canadian maple goodness.
  • Just Christmas  – A store dedicated to Christmas all year round!
  • Scottish Loft – This is a personal favourite for their British chocolate!!

2. Visit Fort George National Historic Site

  • Explore the wooden fort buildings
  • Watch soldiers march and fire muskets
  • Play old-fashioned games from the 1800s

  • Ravine Vineyard – Beautiful grounds, a great casual restaurant, and even a little farm area with animals.

Tips for Visiting Niagara on the Lake with Kids

  • Go early or on weekdays – Weekends can be busy, so visiting on a weekday means fewer crowds.
  • Bring a stroller or wagon – The town is walkable, but if you have little kids, they might need a break.
  • Pack snacks and water – There are plenty of places to eat, but having extra snacks never hurts! We always pack a picnic and enjoy it at one of the parks.
  • Dress for the weather – Summers can be hot, and winters can be chilly, check the forecast before you go.
